Program Coordinator, Leadership Formation Institutes

The Leadership Formation Institute (LFI) is dedicated to fostering leadership development within the Catholic community. Our programs equip lay Catholics with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual depth necessary to serve their parishes and communities effectively. We address the evolving social and cultural contexts of West Michigan, inviting people to know Christ and His Gospel.

Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in the successful implementation and management of LFI programs. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations, coordinate events and program sessions, and provide support to participants and mentors. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Programs and Institutes, other staff, program teams, and guest presenters to ensure that all program activities align with the CIC mission and goals. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for leadership development, intercultural competence, and community building within the context of the Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Coordination and Implementation: Coordinate and manage implementation of institute programming. Coordinate guest presenters, site coordinators, and tech support. Ensure the effective use of online meeting platforms for hybrid learning.

Participant Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for program participants. Foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Assist participants with their pastoral projects.

Team Coordination: Supervise and support program staff, volunteers, and interns. Facilitate regular program team meetings.

Community Outreach and Promotion: Collaborate with staff to promote programming to parishes within the diocese, encouraging participation and engagement.

Administrative Duties: Ensure accuracy of records. Assist in preparing reports on program performance and impact. Assist in the preparation of grant requests and funding proposals.

Continuous Improvement: Track and report on program effectiveness. Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement. Stay informed about best practices in leadership development and incorporate relevant strategies into institute programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit management, religious studies, or another related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination, adult education, or a related role.

Strong understanding of Catholic doctrine and practice, with a commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church.

Excellent organizational and program management skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse groups.

Proficiency in managing use of online meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom) and other technology for hybrid learning environments.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is highly desirable.

Ministry experience in a religious organization or parish community preferred.

Knowledge of budgeting and financial management.

Benefits:

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience. The base starting salary is approximately $43,700 per year.

Work Environment:

The typical work week is Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with some evenings and occasional weekends to accommodate program schedules. The role may involve occasional travel within the diocese for outreach and program delivery.
