Young Adults: Interfaith Voices in West Michigan

Join us for a virtual panel discussion of three young adults—Jewish, Islamic, and Christian—sharing their faith and experience. They will explore the spiritual needs and practices of young adults, especially as the pandemic begins to recede. This panel discussion will be facilitated by Zahabia Ahmed-Usamani, program coordinator for the Kaufman Interfaith Institute at Grand Valley University. All ages welcome.

Zahabia Ahmed-Usmani is Program Coordinator at the Kaufman Interfaith Institute. She oversees the youth programming and works on arts and culture initiatives for the institute. For over 16 years it has been her passion to infuse DEIB (Diversity, Equite, Inclusion and Belonging) into work, school, volunteer, and personal endeavors. Interfaith Foodies- a group that met monthly to cook and eat together along with the Youth Summer Service Day Camps that Kaufman offered were among her favorite programs. The way they built relationships and expanded understanding were inspiring. When Zahabia isn’t officially doing interfaith work she is plugging away at her Masters in Public Administration, caring for her family, volunteering in the community, or relaxing with friends.
