Media pundits and political analysts often talk about the “Catholic vote” during election years. Yet with changing social norms, the challenges of Catholic public witness have become increasingly more difficult. Moreover, Catholics can be found on both sides of polarizing cultural and political issues. So, what is the “Catholic vote”?
The more important question is “how will you vote this November?”
This series will offer the space to explore the four pillars of Catholic moral life as they apply to the political and legal issues around this year’s election: human dignity, common good, subsidiarity, and solidarity.
This is a space for dialogue, welcoming a diversity of perspectives knowing that there are no simple solutions to the various issues at local, state, and national levels. It is an opportunity to share with others, explore the teaching of the Catholic Church, and to be able to make informed choices when exercising your right to vote.
You can attend one session or all. The topics for each night are:
September 12 – Human Dignity
September 26 – Solidarity
October 10 – Subsidiary
October 24 – Common Good
